Titre: Help with "joint toriques", please
Posté par: Commander le Jeu. 02 Mars 2006, 13:24:32
Hello.
I´m from Spain and i don´t speak french, sorry.
Anyhow I follow the forum and the web and extract profit in what I can.
I have to do the oil change to my tw125 2002 and already  have everything what needs, except the joint toriques.
It would need to know the measurements of joints to buy them.

In this image I have the measurements of the part of the oil filter (down image, 3-2) , but not the low diameter of the joint (i need the outside diameter and the low one).
Besides, also i would need to know the measurement of the joint of the drainage screw (upper image, 3)
I would be grateful that someone was helping myself. Thank you

¡Hola!  commander,

You don't have to speak french to be warmly welcomed in our shelter.

Anyway, do you really have to replace the joint set at every oil change ? I don't think so. My TW 125 is 24 000 km and I never changed the joints you're speaking about. I replaced the crankcase flat joint when I changed the front and rear sprocket.

I guess that any Yamaha dealer in Spain will be able to give you the right joint. But I'm gonna check my files anyway to provide the information you need.

 ;-)

Thanks very much.
Really i was not sure that i had to change the joints, but advised me that was suitable and due to the low price that they must have (i suppose), i had thought of changing them.
However, if you say that you have 24.000 km and you haven´t change them, mine has 5.000, with what I suppose that it will not be necessary to me.
Thank you very much.
Greetings.

You'll get the right measure when your oil filter case will be withdrawn after dripping the oil. Go to your dealer with the 2 joints and get some new ones.

Hi Commander,

Hog already replied to your request. The best thing to do is indeed to go to your local shop with your 2 joints...

Whatever, You're very welcome here  ;-)
