Sorry, that I wasn't there on the complete weekend, but the lodging (gîte) wasn't acceptable.

I have the feeling you decided it was not acceptable even before seeing the room, and this is not the only reason for your departure. Without entering useless and endless discussions, the lodging is inline with what we had previously (Lozère, Morvan), the food was amongst the best we had so far, the friendliness of our hosts was almost perfect.
A BWD is not a matter of where you sleep, and I do think you already know that...
Whatever, I'll take a lesson from this and come with a list of the closest hotels for the next editions. I'll also include restaurants in case people want better food, as well as other roadbooks in case roads are not fine.
